Big Update on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

#NitishRana will replace #ShreyasIyer, who is likely to undergo back surgery and is in danger of missing the entire IPL 2023 season.

Who is Nitish Rana?
Nitish Rana is a capped Indian player, who has played one ODI and two T20Is for the national team. Each of the 29-year-old’s three international appearances came in the Men in Blue’s 2021 tour of Sri Lanka. Rana failed to impress as he scored just seven runs in his only ODI outing and 15 runs in the two T20I he got to play.

Nitish Rana’s IPL career

Rana’s first IPL contract came with the Mumbai Indians in 2015 after they purchased him for Rs. 10 Lakhs in the 2015 auction. However, he did not get a single game that season. It was in the 2015-16 domestic season that he burst into the limelight. Rana was Delhi’s highest run-getter in that season’s Ranji Trophy with a tally of 557 runs while he also finished as the second highest run-getter with 218 runs.
Rana made his debut for MI in IPL 2016 where he played four matches and made a total of 105 runs including a highest score of 75. However, it was the 2017 IPL that saw him make a name for himself as Rana played an important role in the Rohit Sharma-led side’s third title win with a total of 333 runs in 13 matches.
