So asked to bat first, MI kept on losing wickets at regular intervals but Varma anchored the innings and remained unbeaten at 84 off 46 balls and took his side to a good total. Later, Kohli remained unbeaten at 82* off 49 balls while Faf smashed 73 off 43 balls as RCB chased down the target in just 16.2 overs. For MI, Cameron Green and Arshad Khan scalped one wicket each. In defence of 171, Mumbai brought in Jason Behrendorff as an impact player in place of Suryakumar Yadav to share the new-ball with Arshad Khan. After making a watchful start, du Plessis cut down on the swing by dancing down the pitch to hit a four and two sixes on both sides of the wicket off Behrendorff.

SRH vs RR IPL 2023 Highlights: Rajasthan Royals began their IPL 2023 campaign with a 72-run victory vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, on Sunday. Chasing a target of 204 runs, SRH were restricted to 131/8 in 20 overs, with Yuzvendra Chahal taking four wickets. Initially RR posted 203/5 in 20 overs, with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson bagging half-centuries respectively. Jaiswal smacked 54 tuns off 37 balls, with Buttler slamming 54 off 22 deliveries. Meanwhile, Samson clattered 55 off 32 deliveries. Fazalhaq Farooqi and T Natarajan were in good bowling form and bagged two wickets each for SRH.

Rajasthan Royals got off to a flying start in the powerplay overs against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler pummelled the SRH bowlers, adding 85 runs for the first wicket in just 5.5 overs. Buttler lost his wicket on 54 runs off 22 balls on the penultimate ball of the powerplay.
